State police nab robbery suspect
NEWFOUNDLAND - A getaway from a bank robbery was short-lived for a Clifton Twp. man.
Dennis J. McGuire, 45, was stopped by police shortly after he took $5,534 in cash from PNC Bank in Newfoundland, state police said.
Mr. McGuire entered the bank around 9:50 a.m. Saturday and demanded money from a teller. The teller and other employees watched him get into a dark minivan with a broken taillight and provided police with a partial license number. A trooper stopped Mr. McGuire on Interstate 380 near Interstate 84, and money from the bank was found in his pockets.
He is in Wayne County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
