A woman is facing a child endangerment charge after a night of drinking.
Treversa Cullars, 28, no address listed, was arrested Sunday for endangering the welfare of a child and public drunkenness after she returned intoxicated to 1036 Genet St. around 6:30 a.m. Sunday to pick up her 8-month-old son, from baby sitters, Scranton police said.
Patrolwoman Nancy Baumann was dispatched to Genet Street after Ms. Cullars' cousin, Torresia Williams, called because she was worried Ms. Cullars would hurt her son.
The baby sitters, Tamera Jones and Latoya Jones, said Ms. Cullars had told them she wanted to go out drinking Saturday night and Tamera Jones said she would baby-sit her son. When Ms. Cullars returned Sunday morning, she was too intoxicated to care for her son, police said.
As she tried to take back her son, Tamera Jones told police that Ms. Cullars was "pulling" on the child and had scratched him on his head and back.
She is in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Monday.
