BBC shows off its new facility
SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. - Baptist Bible College & Seminary's new recreation and activity center isn't quite ready yet, but several hundred students and alumni got a sneak peek Saturday.
The college held an open house to show off the center as part of its homecoming festivities, according to college spokesman Ken Knelly. Construction should be completed by the end of November, he said.
What the building will be called is still undecided, though. Last month, BBC's board of trustees suspended plans to name the center for former administrator and alumnus Wendell Kempton, who also spent 30 years as president of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism. Questions arose over an investigation into an employee of the ABWE accused of child sexual abuse during Dr. Wendell's tenure.
