Small city fire does little damage
SCRANTON - City firefighters responded to a small fire in north Scranton on Thursday, dousing it in about 10 minutes, according to Assistant Fire Chief Paul Laskowski.
Crews were called to 618 Electric St. at 8:12 p.m. for a report of a structure fire. Chief Laskowski said he believed the fire at the rear of the home, which caused minimal damage, was started by a discarded cigarette.
"The wind probably picked it up and it caught the exterior wood molding and worked its way up the wall," he said.
