Woman faces assault charges
SCRANTON - A Honesdale woman was taken into custody Monday morning after a fight on Interstate 81, according to state police at Dunmore.
Erica Eginton, 32, a passenger in a vehicle, is charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and three counts of aggravated assault after she clawed at Michael Conklin's face while he was driving his truck on I-81, police said.
Mr. Conklin, 40, also of Honesdale, pulled over and Ms. Eginton got out. Police began to investigate when they found her after responding to a call about a suspicious person walking along the side of the highway at 7:20 a.m.
Police took her back to the truck, where she again tried to fight with Mr. Conklin and then police, slapping and scratching, when they tried to stop her, police said.
Ms. Eginton is being held at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
