Geisinger starts Nursing Institute
Geisinger has started a new program to advocate for its nurses, help advance their careers and assist with recruitment and retention.
The nonprofit health system created the Nursing Institute, a program to give its nearly 6,000 nurses “support, tools and skills they need to do their jobs,” said Chief Nursing Officer Susan Robel in a statement Monday.
The institute will serve as a governing body to ensure nurses are adequately represented system-wide, the statement said.
“The Geisinger Nursing Institute reinforces our prominent nursing reputation and will serve as a beacon to attract new nurses to the Geisinger family,” said CEO David T. Feinberg.
