A pedestrian was taken to the hospital and one person was arrested after a wreck in South Scranton late Saturday.
Jeffrey McKnight Jr., 28, Scranton, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after his Jeep Wrangler and a green Hyundai crashed outside a Sunoco gas station, 551 Moosic St., about 11:18 p.m., Scranton police Sgt. Tim Charles said.
The sedan, traveling east, was pulling into the gas station when it collided with the westbound Jeep. After the impact, the Jeep spun and struck a pedestrian on the gas station's sidewalk.
The pedestrian, who was not identified by police, was rushed to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Sgt. Charles said.
Witnesses said another pedestrian was also nearby but was not injured, Sgt. Charles said.
Police closed Moosic Street while they investigated the wreck.
No one else was injured in the crash, which is still under investigation, Sgt. Charles said.
