An 18-year-old Kingsley man faces up to 12 years in prison after he admitted he brought a shotgun to a Mountain View High School property in November, and that he had sex with a 15-year-old girl in December.

William Robert Weida entered guilty pleas Friday in Susquehanna County Court to a misdemeanor count of possession of a weapon on school property and felony corruption of a minor.

Two theft cases against Mr. Weida were dismissed in a plea bargain. He has agreed to make restitution to the victims in those cases.

Students at Mountain View reported seeing Mr. Weida, who graduated from Mountain View in June, with a gun in the parking lot about 3 p.m. on Nov. 28, just before he got into an argument with an ex-girlfriend.

The girl told police she did not see a weapon, but later learned he had a gun with him.

The corruption-of-minors charge is a Megan's Law offense. Mr. Weida was ordered by President Judge Kenneth Seamans to undergo an evaluation by the Sexual Offenders Assessment board to determine if he is a sexually violent predator.

He admitted to having sexual contact with the teen Dec. 17-18 on roads in Harford Twp.

In court documents, the victim told police she never wanted a sexual relationship with Mr. Weida and only had sex with him out of fear.

The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual assault.

Mr. Weida has been held at the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility since his Dec. 19 arrest. He is scheduled to be sentenced April 18.
