Hearing delayed in online threat
SCRANTON - A preliminary hearing for the Scranton Prep senior accused of posting a Twitter threat to "blow up" two schools was continued Monday.
Lackawanna County Central Court had not yet set a new date for the hearing for Torre Scrimalli, 18, of Scranton. The court was waiting to coordinate a new hearing date with the attorneys in the case.
Mr. Scrimalli is facing one count of terroristic threats causing evacuation of public buildings for tweeting on Feb. 4 that he might blow up Holy Cross and Mid Valley high schools.
The tweet prompted authorities to evacuate 900 people from the latter during a basketball game between the two schools.
