SCRANTON - Water from a broken main cracked through Wyoming Avenue this morning and has crews working to stop the flow gushing into the street.
Pennsylvania American Water company crews responded to the 700 block of Wyoming Avenue shortly before noon today and found cracks on either side of the street, though the majority of the water appeared to be flowing from a crack in front of Sandone Tire, 730 Wyoming Ave.
Crews on the scene were working to shut off the affected main and city police officers were responding to assist with traffic, as a growing puddle spread across the road.
City firefighters have also arrived at the scene where they are reporting a gas leak in addition to the water main break.
Efforts to reach Pennsylvania American Water were not immediately successful.
