Wilkes-Barre police plan to charge seven males linked to an armed robbery and assault spree throughout the city last month, city police say.
Police are filing arrest warrants against each member of the group, accused of terrorizing city residents for several days in January with armed stick-ups and attacks, police say.
The suspects include two adults and four 16-year-olds, who will be charged as adults because of the severity of the crimes, police say. A 14-year-old boy will petitioned to juvenile court.
Investigators identified the adult suspects as:
- Quincy Michael Patrick, 18, of Larksville
- Jahmel Rashon Wadley, 20, of Wilkes-Barre
Police say the attacks and armed robberies occurred on East Main Street, Arch Street, Lehigh Street, Old River Road, and West River Street in the city between Jan. 20 and Jan. 22.
The most publicized attack was when a male undergraduate Wilkes University student was assaulted on Jan. 22. The victim was attacked and robbed in front of Waller Hall on 40 W. River St., and reported the suspects fled in a white four-door sedan. Shortly before the incident, a man was robbed in similar fashion on Old River Road in the city.
The next day, police pulled over the suspected vehicle and began to develop suspects in the case, police said.
Investigators say all of the robberies included a gun and some of the victims were injured.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects are asked to call city police at 570-826-8106.
