Old Forge won't renovate school
OLD FORGE - It's been more than 50 years since major components of Old Forge High School have been renovated.
That won't change this year, either, said district Superintendent Scott Jeffery in Monday's Old Forge School District "State of the District" address.
However, the school board is in the process of developing short- and long-range plans to "keep facilities current," Mr. Jeffery said.
"The district will continue to maximize the use of funds to repair and replace things over time," he said. "Right now, because of the rise in health care costs, we are a little strapped for cash."
Among the different areas the board eventually plans to address is the wooden floor in the high school's gymnasium.
"Floorboards have been buckling and creating humps in the base line," Mr. Jeffery said.
