Five face charges
after drug found
Five people were arrested, including two wanted individuals, and face drug-related charges after Lackawanna County detectives found heroin and drug paraphernalia while executing a search warrant on a Scranton home.
Police said they found nine packets of heroin hidden in a radiator, a cellphone used to coordinate previous controlled heroin transactions and a needle in the living room where two children under age 2 were found.
Emerald Bogle, Richard Guerrero-Estrella and Ramon Lorenzo, all of 105 W. Olive St.; Wilson Graniela-Rivera of York; and Emmanuel Caban, 320 Pittston Ave., all were charged with criminal conspiracy engaging in possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of children, prohibited acts for possession of heroin and prohibited acts for possession of glassine packets and hypodermic needles.
Mr. Guerrero-Estrella was also charged with manufacturing with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
In the bedroom Ms. Bogle shares with her two children were two hypodermic needles and a spoon with cotton in it, commonly used for injecting heroin, police said.
Ms. Bogle was wanted for a parole violation in Virginia, police said. Mr. Lorenzo was wanted by the Scranton Police Department on a larceny and theft charge.
All five people were arraigned Friday and are slated for a preliminary hearing Thursday. Ms. Bogle, Mr. Graniela-Rivera, Mr. Caban and Mr. Lorenzo are in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail each; Mr. Guerrero-Estrella was held on $200,000 bail.
