CARBONDALE - A Carbondale man is facing a laundry list of charges after an arrest Friday night at a city pharmacy revealed he was not who he claimed to be.
Kashon Mack, 38, 45 Pearl St. was initially taken into custody on assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct charges after a domestic call brought officers out to the Rite Aid at 51 N. Main St.
The name Mr. Mack gave police, however, did not turn up in any database, prompting a fingerprint scan at processing.
When police learned his real name, they discovered he is a classified as a career criminal in Delaware with a rap sheet stretching back to 1992. Previous arrests include delivery of cocaine, heroin and armed robbery in Philadelphia.
"His criminal history alone is 13 pages long," said Sgt. Brian Bognatz. "He's been arrested under four or five different names."
Police responded to the pharmacy after a report of a man and woman screaming obscenities at 7:30 p.m. A witness told police she saw Mr. Mack slam the head of Sidyea Hainey, same address, off a wall. She showed no sign of injuries, police said.
Both were arrested. Ms. Hainey was released.
Mr. Mack told police he moved to Carbondale three weeks ago, Sgt. Bognatz said.
He was taken to Lackawanna County Prison to await arraignment.
