A Lisle, N.Y., man has admitted to a series of bank robberies last year, including one in Scranton.
Samuel A. Parrotti II, 44, admitted in U.S. District Court in Binghamton, N.Y., he robbed four banks throughout Pennsylvania and New York in Lackawanna, Broome and Bradford counties in July and August, according to a news release from the Department of Justice on Thursday.
Mr. Parrotti stole $11,350 from the Pennstar Bank, 117 Meadow Ave., on Aug. 6, then stole $21,000 Aug. 27 from the Visions Federal Credit Union in Sayre.
Before his Pennsylvania robberies, Mr. Parrotti said he robbed the M&T Bank at 1170 Vestal Ave. in Binghamton on July 16 and the NBT Bank branch at 2950 Route 11 in Whitney Point on Aug. 1, according to the release.
Authorities said Mr. Parrotti claimed to have a gun in all four robberies and passed notes to tellers demanding money, stealing a total of about $38,000, according to the release.
He faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 for each of the four felony robbery counts, and is slated to be sentenced in front of Senior U.S. District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy in Binghamton on May 23, according to the release.
