When Cassandra Bishop arrived at her Pleasant Avenue home Sunday afternoon, her ex-boyfriend, Jabaar Griffin, 24, was inside, police said. When she reached for her phone, he hit her with a hammer, and she dropped to the floor. After he let her get up, she ran outside and locked herself in her car, and he fled.
After a short foot chase with police, Mr. Griffin was arrested on Lackawanna Avenue, according to the criminal complaint.
Ms. Bishop suffered cuts to her face and back. Police have charged Mr. Griffin with burglary, aggravated assault, simple assault and resisting arrest. Arraignment information was unavailable Sunday.
