Man sleeping in sailboat arrested
MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TWP. - An East Stroudsburg man who was found sleeping in a parked sailboat was charged with drug crimes, police said.
The incident occurred Friday at 10:22 p.m. when police investigated a report of a suspicious person on Rim Road in the Winona Lakes development, according to state police at Swiftwater.
William Joseph Patterson III, 24, of East Stroudsburg, was found sleeping in the cabin of a sailboat parked in a driveway. He possessed suspected marijuana and 59 wax packets containing a counterfeit substance in place of heroin, police said.
He was charged with violating unspecified drug violations and was being held in the Monroe County Correctional Facility pending a hearing.
