Jessup continues search for a chief
JESSUP - Police chiefs were the focus of a borough council meeting Thursday.
Former Police Chief Anthony M. Ligi Jr., who retired at the end of 2012, was honored for his 29 years of service at the meeting. Mr. Ligi received a standing ovation after a citation from state Rep. Frank Farina, D-115, Jessup, honoring the long-time officer, was read.
Residents also inquired about the status of the search for Mr. Ligi's replacement. Solicitor Rick Fanucci said interviews have been completed, and the board planned to meet in executive session after the meeting to discuss the candidates.
Also at the meeting, the board approved a 10-year contract with Comcast that increases the revenue the borough receives from 3 percent to 5 percent and updates antiquated contract language, according to Mr. Fanucci.
