Two-vehicle crash closes part of I-81
LENOX TWP. - A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 closed a northbound lane for about an hour on Saturday.
John Rooney, 68, of Topeka, Kan., lost control of his Kenworth truck when he tried to avoid another vehicle in the left lane of I-81 north at mile marker 209, according to state police.
The truck slid across the center line, hit a car driven by David Walker, 26, of Montrose, and continued north, finally stopping along the right shoulder.
Neither driver was injured. The right lane reopened around 12:40 p.m., 53 minutes after the crash, a state Department of Transportation news release said.
