Cops: Drugs found after hit-and-run

DUNMORE - A Scranton woman was arrested with drugs after fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run crash in Dunmore on Saturday, borough police said.

Cynthia Brown, 42, 816 W. Elm St., was traveling west on Green Ridge Street at 1:05 p.m. when she struck a parked vehicle in front of 1807 Green Ridge St., which forced it under a second parked vehicle. Dunmore police arrested her after a cab company notified them that a woman had called for a ride at Dunmore Appliance, according to Dunmore Officer Joe George.

Police said they found Ms. Brown with a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia containing cocaine. There was also a warrant for her arrest in Scranton.

Ms. Brown was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center for a toxicology test. She will be charged, pending the results, according to Officer George.
