A 25-year-old Moosic woman six months into her third pregnancy sold heroin to support her own habit with the drug, investigators said after her arrest Thursday.

After learning from multiple sources, including Lackawanna County Children and Youth Services, that Amanda Walter had been selling heroin out of her room at the Moosic Motor Inn, 4124 Birney Ave., detectives with the county district attorney's office arranged a controlled purchase with her on Thursday.

Once the transaction was complete, investigators secured a search warrant for Ms. Walter's room and found 36 bags of heroin hidden there, as well as needles used to inject the drug and paraphernalia associated with crack, a drug Ms. Walter said she used as well, according to a criminal complaint.

Ms. Walter was arrested on charges including possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Information on her bail and preliminary hearing was not available Thursday.
