Teen sentenced for threat on mom

SCRANTON - A Clarks Summit teen was sentenced to five years' probation for threatening to shoot his mother with a rifle.

Lackawanna County Judge Michael J. Barrasse sentenced Mark Drutarovsky, 19, on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty in September to terroristic threats and simple assault for the incident in May at his grandparents' 12002 Creek Road home in Ransom Twp.

Mr. Drutarovsky did not want to go to school, so when his mother tracked down the Abington Heights High School senior at his grandparents' house, he pulled a gun on her, police said.

His mother, Michelle Plunkett, told the judge it was a "freak" incident and they have grown much closer since it happened.

Judge Barrasse also ordered Mr. Drutarovsky to begin his probation with 90 days' house arrest.
