Police: man stabbed with scissors
SCRANTON - One man was arrested after stabbing another man in the face with scissors and then punching him early Tuesday morning, Scranton police said.
Ronald Syp, 67, 1201 Capouse Ave. Apt. 14, told police one of his neighbors, Michael Griffin, was banging on his door, then yelled at Mr. Syp when he opened the door. Mr. Syp said he was afraid Mr. Griffin would hit him so he stabbed him in the cheek, ear, forehead and top of his head, and then punched him, police said.
Mr. Syp was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and recklessly endangering another person. He was arraigned Tuesday and is slated for a preliminary hearing Dec. 26. He is at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
