Fire destroys Rush Twp. house
RUSH TWP. - A fire that consumed a house in Susquehanna County early Saturday is under investigation by the state police fire marshals office.
Tom Jauss, assistant chief with the Rush Volunteer Fire Company, said the house in the 9000 block of Route 267 had one occupant, who was not home at the time of the fire.
The first dispatch came at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, but it took several hours to contain the blaze, Assistant Chief Jauss said.
The flames were heavy, especially in the front of the house, he said. It took three fire companies to extinguish the fire.
Assistant Chief Jauss said the house was a total loss.
