CLARKS GREEN - Protecting himself from the cool wind gusts, Adrian Treat pulled the fabric over his ears and adjusted his blue robe.

Then, holding a crook in his right hand, the 3-year-old shepherd moved into position.

"This is what it is all about," said his father, Todd Treat, as he watched Adrian stand in position. "Yesterday, he told me he really wanted to do it, but earlier today he was not as sure.

"I think he will do a great job."

A number of children and animals took center stage Sunday evening for the re-enactment of the birth of Christ at the Clarks Green Assembly of God.

In its 15th year, the live Nativity featured a donkey, cow, sheep, goats and alpaca.

But the Rev. Glenn White said he was most excited about the number of children volunteers this year.

"Look at all them," he said, pointing to the children as parents handed them their robes and head wear. "Without them, this would be nothing.

"They provide a gift to the community - one that cannot be duplicated."
