Victim: Muggers preferred iPhone
SCRANTON - A pair of muggers in the Hill Section could have taken a University of Scranton student's Droid smartphone Sunday, but they wanted an iPhone.
That is essentially what the victim, an 18-year-old man from Blauvelt, N.Y., told city police when he reported the robbery, acting Capt. Glen Thomas said.
The victim said he had just taken out his Droid when two men pushed him to the ground in the 500 block of Clay Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. One asked if he had an iPhone. When the victim said he had a Droid, the muggers asked what else he had, Capt. Thomas said.
The victim handed over an unknown amount of cash, and the muggers fled on foot, Capt. Thomas said.
