BAE gets $35M Pentagon order
JESSUP - BAE Systems Inc. has received a $35 million Pentagon order for body armor.
The Defense Logistics Agency placed the order for tactical vests equipped with soft-armor ballistic inserts and hard-armor plates, BAE reported.
The request is part of a contract issued in March that could reach $267 million over four years.
BAE, a British defense giant, reported in October it would add about 120 jobs at the Jessup plant, which had about 225 employees. Workers at the factory manufacture ballistic helmets and combat vests.
