Donald Albritton initially went to his ex-girlfriend's house on Thanksgiving to thank her for not filing a police report against his teenage daughter.

The two believe she stole Ugg Boots and a Juicy Couture bracelet from his ex, Megan White. Mr. Albritton even gave Ms. White a $30 restitution payment for the stolen goods and expressed his gratitude for not involving the police.

But when Ms. White took off her engagement ring to make Thanksgiving dinner, Mr. Albritton picked up the ring and walked away with it, witnesses told police.

A few days later, Ms. White filed a police report after she was informed Mr. Albritton gave her engagement ring to his wife in an effort to "patch up his marriage."

Mr. Albritton, 35, 921 Quincy Ave., Second Floor, was charged with one count of theft.

He also faces charges of simple assault, criminal attempt to commit robbery, criminal conspiracy and robbery in an unrelated incident the night of Nov. 11, when city police said he punched a man in the face on the 300 block of Lackawanna Avenue, threw him over a bike rack and took his cellphone.

Mr. Albritton was arraigned on all charges Tuesday and is slated for a preliminary hearing Tuesday. He was released from custody on $25,000 unsecured bail.
