Bottlenecks Saloon and Eatery is the newest business to open in downtown Wilkes-Barre.

The pub and eatery, which also has a location in West Hazleton, opened Wednesday at 3 S. Main St. in space next to Barnes & Noble formerly occupied by Wendy's. Prior to Wendy's, the site was the former S.S. Kresge department store.

The new business features a large selection of draft beer, self-serve beer taps and everything from wings and steaks to salads and sandwiches, said owner Jason Misto.

"We're mostly known for our wings," Misto said Wednesday. "We sell 700 to 800 pounds of wings a week in West Hazleton and I'm sure we'll do the same in a week here."

The pub and eatery will employ about 20 people and will be open extended hours seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Customers can watch sports on 16 televisions inside. Weekly entertainment also will be offered, Misto said. The business has been in the planning stages for years and has been under construction for the last few months.
