Update: Police name suspect in Blooming Grove police shooting
A law enforcement official says a suspect in the killing of a trooper and the critical wounding of another outside a barracks recently lived with his parents in a town about 20 miles from the shooting scene.
The official says the suspect is in his 30s and lived with his parents in Canadensis until a few months ago. The official says investigators found his Jeep in a swampy area near the Blooming Grove barracks, scene of Friday night's attack.
The official has direct knowledge of the investigation but wasn't authorized to release information and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
An assailant killed 38-year-old Cpl. Bryon Dickson and critically wounded Trooper Alex Douglass outside the barracks in northeastern Pennsylvania, then slipped away.
State police planned a news conference Tuesday afternoon.
