Tuesday: The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women's Networking Committee women's networking luncheon program, noon-1 p.m., Tom's Kitchen, Route 93, Sugarloaf. Event open to all women in Greater Hazleton. Includes a buffet-style lunch. Guest speaker, Chris De Rienzo, from the Valley Country Club. Cost is $16 for Chamber members and $21 for nonmembers. Wednesday: Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce course on Confined Space and Hot Work Permit Training, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the chamber, 20 W. Broad St., Hazleton. Cost is $79 per person and $39 for each additional person registered from same company or if you have completed an OSHA course. Training is by Joseph A. Thomas, authorized OSHA instructor of J. Thursday: Workforce Wayne "Business Startup Fundament-als," 1-4:30 p.m., Wayne/Pike Technology Training Lab, Hawley Silk Mill, 8 Silk Mill Drive, Suite 212, Hawley. Issues to be discussed include assessing your skills to be an owner, evaluating your business idea, conducting market research, studying your competition, deciding which legal format to choose, accounting and government issues. - Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association combined Safety and Manufacturing/Plant Operations Roundtable, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Pottsville Club. Dec. 4: Pennsylvania Association of Notaries educational seminars, "First Time Notary Seminar," 9 a.m.-noon; and the "Everyday Notary Challenges Seminar," 1-4 p.m., Holiday Inn Express, 30 Concorde Drive, Avoca. Cost is $64 per seminar. The seminars are state-approved and fulfill the three-hour mandatory education provision for new notaries.

Dec. 5: Pennsylvania Association of Notaries educational "Notary Reappointment and Identity Theft Seminar," 9 a.m.-noon, Holiday Inn Express, 30 Concorde Drive, Avoca. The seminar fulfills the state's educational requirement for reappointed notaries. The cost for each seminar is $64.

Dec. 6: 17th annual Greater Hazleton Business Person's Holiday Mixer sponsored by the Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn and the Residence Inn through Susquehanna Associates Management Inc., 5-7 p.m., at the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts, 212 W. Broad St., Hazleton. Members of downtown business community and chamber members and guests welcome. Mixer will feature hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, music and raffles. Cost is $10.
